Unit 3: Cycle 4 Assignments
Due May 17, 2013
This is our final project for this year's class in Yearbook! You have a choice of three. Sign up for what you are want to do on the May 2nd Wiki page.
I. Make a poster, either electronic to show at the launch party, or hard copy to put up around campus before the launch event. Follow these guidelines:
Subject. The focus should have either to do with the launch party, this year's theme, or a poster showing students how to use ReplayIt or Time Capsule.
Application. You can create this using a practice page in the Josten's site, in Photoshop, or Word. Or...your choice. Whatever you use, we should be able to upload to a PowerPoint to show during the event.
Specifications. Follow the "Works every time format." It should have these elements:
1. Three main groupings.
2. Margins.
3. Dominant photo or visual that is interesting, in-focus and properly exposed. Think of the elements we learned this year.
4. Cutline below photo.
5. Headline. If you need to break the line, let the copy break it.
6. Font that matches the design.
7. Copy that is legible. Text should be readable and free of grammatical or spelling errors.
8. A tag or logo. You can use the yearbook class logo on the Wiki if you like.
9. Use simplicity and restraint.
II. Make a slideshow or movie trailer that we can use to promote the yearbook.
Subject. The focus should have either to do with the launch party, this year's theme, or a poster showing students how to use ReplayIt or Time Capsule.
Application. You can use Animoto, iMovie, Moviemaker, or...whatever you use, make sure it can be uploaded to my computer so we can play it during the event.
Specifications.
1. Roughly 30 seconds to a 1 minute long.
2. Text should be readable and free of grammatical or spelling errors.
3. Video or photos should be interesting, in-focus, and properly exposed. Think of the elements we learned this year.
4. Add a credit screen.
III. Make a layout template or design element (a logo for example) for next year's book. This is mainly for people who are going to remain in yearbook.
You can make a template for a portrait page, a divider page, sports/club page, or....
IV. We need two or three people who will continue to upload photos from ongoing events, and who will continue to maintain the ReplayIt site, and tag photos.
