Unit 2, Cycle 5 Assignments
Due by Monday, January 21st, at 8a.m.
Your double-page feature should have all of the elements completed. All photos, captions, and stories should be dropped in and finished. If you have interview notes, please drop them in on your feature brainstorm page. (Criteria C: Create)
Optional Meeting on Tuesday, January 23rd.
This is an editor's meeting, but since we are in crunch time, you are all welcome to come if you'd like some extra help and time to finesse your pages. The editors will be reviewing the pages we are submitting. If you want lunch, please bring $5 for pizza.
Survey During Lunch on Friday, Jan. 25th
Thanks to all of you who returned your parental permission! I'll bring the pizza for this, to thank you for your help. We'll meet in the iDeas lab. The survey can be taken either online or on paper. It asks questions about your use of the website, and for your suggestions on how to improve the site and the class. It will be completely anonymous.
Due by Sunday, January 27th.
Complete your feature brainstorm page, and make sure there is an item in each category even if you don't choose to do that element. For example, even if you choose to not do an infographic on your page, come up with plans for one. Make sure that your schedule is filled in with names, job done, and where it is saved. I recommend that you save photos on the Josten's site--tell me which folder it is in. I recommend that you save interview notes on your feature brainstorm page--just make a note where you end up saving it. (Criterion A, B, C: Investigate, Design, Plan)
Coming Up:
Right now we are in a time crunch, so I haven't assigned Weebly reflections for the past 2 cycles. Keep in mind that you'll write a longer reflection once we make the deadline at the end of the month. Jot some notes down so that you can write about these things later. Some ideas:
1. Problems, complications and solutions-Criteria A: Investigate
2. Who you contact-Criteria A
3. Challenges in layout, photo design-Criteria B-Design
4. Your process as you developed your page-Criteria C: Plan
5. Your self-assessment of elements on the page (photos, story, captions)-Criteria E: Evaluate
